Caring for Flowers
To ensure the best results, it's important to properly care for your flowers before bringing them in for preservation. Follow these steps to keep your flowers in optimal condition:
1. Handle with Care
- Avoid Excessive Handling: Handle the flowers as little as possible to prevent bruising and damage.
- Hold by the Stems: When moving or adjusting the flowers, hold them by the stems rather than the petals or blooms to avoid crushing them.
2. Keep Flowers Hydrated
- Immediate Watering: Place the flowers in water as soon as possible after receiving them.
- Cut Stems: Trim the stems at an angle under running water using a sharp knife or scissors. This helps the flowers absorb water more efficiently.
- Change Water Regularly: Change the water in the vase every 24 hours to keep it fresh with no leaves or debris floating in the water. This prevents bacteria buildup.
3. Optimal Storage Conditions
- Cool Temperature: Store the flowers in a cool environment, away from direct sunlight, heaters, or air conditioners. The ideal temperature is around 65-72°F (18-22°C). DO NOT STORE IN THE FRIDGE OR FREEZER.
- Humidity Control: Ensure the room is not too dry. A moderate level of humidity will help keep the flowers hydrated and fresh.
4. Avoid Harmful Elements
- No Fruits Nearby: Keep flowers away from fruits, especially apples and bananas. Fruits release ethylene gas, which can speed up the aging process of flowers.
- No Drafts: Avoid placing flowers in areas with drafts or strong winds, as this can cause them to dry out quickly.
5. Transporting the Flowers
- Wrap Carefully: When transporting the flowers, wrap them loosely in a soft cloth or paper to protect them from damage.
- Keep Upright: Make sure the flowers stay upright during transport to prevent bending or breaking of the stems.
6. Timeliness
- Prompt Preservation: Aim to bring your flowers in for preservation as soon as possible, ideally within 48-72 hours of the event, to ensure they are in the best condition.

Resurrection Collection
Resurrection ferns (Pleopeltis polypodioides) are native to Louisiana and found tucked into the bark of oak and cypress trees. Most days, they appear dry and curled—lifeless even. But after the rain, they unfurl, green and full, springing back to life as if nothing had happened.
We chose this fern for our latest collection because it mirrors the quiet strength we see in the stories behind so many keepsakes we create. A bloom saved from a wedding, a funeral, or a turning point in someone’s life—pressed and preserved to honor the beauty that remains.
This collection features locally gathered resurrection ferns, carefully arranged in framed art and jewelry pieces. Each one is a wearable or displayable reminder: even in the dry spells, you’re still here. Still unfolding.
